Primitive House Farm
Working closely with her mother Nancy in Saco, Maine, Meghan helped her operate Primitive House Farm for 17 years. The mother-daughter team offered over 100 products that they handmade and hand-labeled, selling them in shops and boutiques along the Maine Coast. When her mom passed away in early 2019, Meghan stopped operations at the farm to refocus. One year later, she started making products again using the same recipes and farm. She then relaunched the company and brand, taking a simpler approach and honoring her mom, whose legacy lives on in the company’s recipes.
Using only high-quality ingredients, Primitive House Farm offers natural home goods and skincare products, including luxurious shea butter lotions, soaps and balms. Many of the products are enriched by their own farm’s fragrant herbs, gorgeous florals and rich botanicals. Other items are hand-selected from farmers and suppliers whose naturally sourced values reflect Primitive House Farm’s principles. To create their soaps, they use time-honored techniques, curing lye and oil for weeks instead of purchasing premanufactured materials to speed up manufacturing. None of their products contain phthalates, sulfates or parabens.
In addition, Primitive House Farm never tests on animals and part of all their sales go to animal organizations in the U.S. and abroad, providing aid to groups who help animals that have been mistreated and exploited.
