Handecloth
Influenced by the previous generations’ focus on working with their hands to make useful and beautiful items, Julie, a mother of two, started Handecloth in Connecticut in 2022. Julie, who has been sewing since she was a young girl, was not only inspired to carry on the traditions of the past but also design reusable products, providing an alternative to disposable items.
Handecloth’s stylish, reusable paper towels are enhanced by finished edges and are durable enough to be used daily. Handecloth tested many different types of fabrics and finishes to find the ideal replacement for single-use paper towels. Many of their products feature organic birdseye cotton, a super-soft fabric used since the 18th century and known for its absorbency. It is also machine washable and gentle enough to be used on baby’s sensitive skin. Their reusable grease absorbers are great for patting off excess grease from foods like pizza and bacon and can even be used as a splash guard in the microwave.
In addition, their products are biodegradable and compostable. Handecloth ensures that only eco-friendly components are used to produce their products, including the packaging. All the items are handmade in the U.S.
